For Hot Plate's menu design, the creative direction was inspired by a client-provided moodboard that emphasized playful, nostalgic, and handcrafted elements. Key visual references included a checkerboard motif, whimsical doodles, and a bold color palette of green, orange, and black. The design draws from the restaurant's vibrant personality, with its paint-by-numbers-covered walls and warm atmosphere, capturing the essence of the cozy, colorful breakfast spot. The resulting menu balances fun and functionality, using energetic patterns, illustrated details, and cheerful colors to create a dining experience that feels approachable, memorable, and uniquely Hot Plate.
